🚀 Don't just tell them how good your product or service is, give them the evidence.

Using interactive tools in your presentations can be a game changer. In the same way that a 'picture can paint a thousand words', a well designed calculator or configurator can replace a thousand slides of text, diagrams and charts. They translate what can feel like abstract, high-level benefits into concrete scenarios based on the prospect’s own context and inputs, improving comprehension without overloading detail. Done well, they can generate a visceral reaction, when the genuine, authentic value of an offer becomes apparent - in black and white.
Sales presentations often try to do several things at once: explain an offering, establish credibility, uncover requirements, and move the buyer toward a decision. In many cases, these objectives compete with each other. Too much detail slows the conversation. Too little leaves key questions unanswered. Interactive tools such as calculators and configurators help resolve this tension by introducing structure at the right points in the presentation.
We've built some quick examples to demonstrate what we mean, which include calculators for Inheritance Tax (IHT), sales, attitudes to risk, return on investment (ROI).

Summary
Of course interactive tools are not appropriate in every situation. Early exploratory conversations may benefit more from open discussion than structured input. Highly bespoke engagements may resist standardised configuration. In some cases, introducing calculators too early can feel premature.
The value of these tools lies in how they are used, not in their presence. When designed to support the sales conversation rather than replace it, they improve clarity for buyers and efficiency for sales teams. They help convert discussion into shared understanding and make assumptions visible, apply logic consistently, and produce outputs that support decision-making.
If you need an idea for an interactive tool, which would work in the context of your business, we have another online guide that uses AI to help you generate the idea, it's called The 'Eureka' Moment Generator.
Or if you need some help building something, just a slide or a whole presentation we can help. It's what we do.
Best,
Alan
